History of Dunes Club

Club is located in the heart of city at Civil Lines, Adjoining Circuit House, Opp. Rajindera College, Bathinda. Initially the club was started in the name and style of “Civil Services Club” likely on 1954 for limited sports activity, it is administrate by the Govt. officer’s and admire invitees to play the games in there vacant schedule period to ensure the basic feature of the officer’s club,

the officers are being involved in the real management of the club with the Deputy Commissioner as its permanent President in his ex-officio capacity. To provide facilities of entertainment & refreshment also promoting long brotherhood. Later on, some eminent personalities of the city were taken as members with nominal fees to improve the revenues of the club and an Executive Committee was formed consisting of members from amongst Govt. officer and resident of the city, after that the Govt. quarter renovated in a bar & banquet hall.The club was renamed as “Dunes Club” on the initiative of Shri Arun Goel, IAS, Deputy Commissioner-cum- President of the club on 19.2.1994, club was register under the society Act. & the constitution bye Laws of the club be formulated by Sh. Amarjit Singh, IAS, Deputy Commissioner-cum- President and rules and bye laws will take effect from the 1st Jan 1995. Club has flourished immensely since then with its membership as 20-650.

For amending constitution, a 3 member constitution amendment committee was constituted on 29.7.2014. Later the committee presented its report to the Executive Committee/President. The Executive committee presented the new constitution in the general body meeting specially called for this purpose on 20. The proposed constitution was passed in the general body meeting by voice vote and it was decided to give effect to it as from the
